Make yourself
at home.
A few small steps to a more intentional starting point. This guide describes the current build, preparing for App Store submission.

In your order.
Daymark adds a launcher and widgets. iOS still controls the system Home Screen, dock, placement, and widget refresh timing.
1. Arrange your launcher lists
Open Arrange and choose Everyday, Work, Evening, or Offline. Add apps, website addresses, or Apple Shortcuts; edit names and ordering. Customize typography, spacing, alignment, and color scheme. Each routine has its own layout. “Offline” is simply a routine name—it does not turn off Wi-Fi, mobile data, or any other connection.
2. Set up your Shortcuts
Some apps require a shortcut you create. In Apple’s Shortcuts app, make a shortcut, add the Open App action, and select the destination app. Give it the exact name configured in Daymark, such as “Open Mail.” Run it in Shortcuts first, then test it from Daymark’s app editor. For website or supported deep-link destinations, enter the correct address instead.
3. Add Home Screen widgets
Open Daymark at least once. Touch and hold your Home Screen, select Edit → Add Widget, and search for Daymark. Add an App index or Field note widget. Touch and hold the placed widget and choose Edit Widget to set the routine and section. A small App index opens one selected app; medium shows three and large shows six per section.
Full-page widgets require iOS 27 and a supported placement. Smaller widgets work on earlier compatible iOS versions. You can combine a medium Field note with a large App index. Additional sections let you show more of a routine’s list.
4. Export matching wallpaper
Choose your color scheme in Arrange, then open Set up and export the matching wallpaper. Choose Save to Photos, Save to Files, or the share sheet. In iOS Settings → Wallpaper, select the saved image as your Home Screen wallpaper and turn blur off. Exporting does not change the wallpaper automatically.
Save to Photos asks only for permission to add the image; it does not read your photo library. If access is denied, use Files or change Daymark’s Photos permission in Settings. iOS controls margins, labels, and the dock, so perfectly invisible widget edges are not guaranteed.
5. Use pauses, a timer, and your Journal
Enable an optional pause for selected launches in Daymark. When it appears, choose to continue or step away. The pause applies only to launches through Daymark; you can still open apps directly. Start a timer from Focus and review Daymark activity in Journal.
Daymark does not block other apps or silence notifications. A timer does not automatically activate Apple Focus. If you want a Home Screen page tied to a system Focus mode, configure that separately in Settings → Focus.
Let’s get it
working.
An app or shortcut won’t open
Make sure the destination app is installed. Match the shortcut name exactly, including spaces, and run it directly in Apple Shortcuts to complete any permission prompts. Test it again from Daymark’s app editor. Check that a website address uses a valid URL and that a custom deep link is supported by the destination app. If a link no longer works, try a user-created Open App shortcut.
Daymark is missing from the widget gallery
Launch Daymark once after installation, then return to the Home Screen and try adding it again. Check that your iOS version supports the widget size you want. Full-page widgets need iOS 27; choose a smaller size on an earlier compatible version. If it remains missing, restart the device and reopen Daymark before trying again.
My widget shows the wrong apps or looks out of date
Open Daymark and confirm the routine’s list. Touch and hold the widget, choose Edit Widget, and check its routine, section, or selected app for a small widget. iOS schedules widget refreshes, so a change may not appear immediately. If it stays stale, remove and re-add that widget. Make sure its color scheme matches the wallpaper you exported.
The wallpaper does not match
Export again after changing the routine’s color scheme. Choose that new image for the Home Screen wallpaper, turn blur off, and check the widget’s routine. Wallpaper effects and iOS-controlled margins, labels, and dock appearance can still change the result. If Photos saving fails, use Save to Files or the share sheet and try again.
What does the Journal actually measure?
The daily Journal shows Daymark launch handoffs, choices to step away, and elapsed timer sessions. A handoff means Daymark asked iOS to open a destination, not that you spent time there. Timer minutes are elapsed time, not verified focused time. Daymark does not measure total device screen time or activity outside its launcher. History uses the latest 500 choices and 500 timer sessions; older activity can be incomplete.
How do I back up, restore, or delete my data?
In Set up, choose Export layouts & activity for a JSON backup. Import a backup replaces current layouts and activity after confirmation. Store exported files privately: they can include app names, destinations, and Journal activity. Use Focus → Clear local activity to clear choices and timer history. There is no account to close. Delete exported copies separately. See the privacy policy for local storage and iOS backup details.
